Since their launch in 2017, the 35 evidence-based navigation metrics have repeatedly proven their merit. First, by providing a way to demonstrate the value and sustainability of oncology navigation through successful outcomes. The AONN+ metrics also support the evidence-based navigation acuity tool, which is planned to be available in 2025. Lastly, the metrics and their outcomes support the 2024 Principal Illness Navigation (PIN) reimbursement billing codes for navigation.
