Enter CONQUER. Published by The Lynx Group as the official publication of The Academy of Oncology Nurse & Patient Navigators (AONN+), this patient-facing magazine was launched in February 2015 to fill an unmet need for AONN+’s oncology nurse navigators.

The recent proliferation of patient and caregiver support programs is being driven by greater patient involvement in health decisions, increasing attention on patient outcomes, and the growth of specialty drugs that require additional patient support. These programs encompass a range of services which enable pharmaceutical companies to improve access to, usage of, and adherence to prescription drug treatments.

The AONN+ Standardized Metrics Task Force collaborated with Oncology Solutions, LLC, to develop the NAVmetrics^™ cloud-based IT platform powered by Oncology Solutions’ ONC iQ^® business intelligence tool for navigators to utilize for data capture, management, and reporting of navigation metrics. The study aim is to validate the Standardized Evidence-Based Oncology Navigation Metrics.

Emerging pharmacologic therapies used for the treatment of oncology are being developed and approved at an accelerated rate.

The role of the navigator along the continuum of care is bidimensional in nature with a patient-centered (empowerment with education and knowledge) and health system (multidisciplinary) orientation to deliver timely, seamless care. Within the multidisciplinary team, the navigator works as an advocate, care provider, educator, counselor, and facilitator to ensure that every patient receives comprehensive, timely, and quality healthcare services.
